A young boy had learned about prayer in church school… And had been putting what he learned into practice… One night as his dad passed his door… He saw the boy in his bed… He had his hands folded… and his eyes closed tight… And the boy kept praying over and over again, "Tokyo, Tokyo, Tokyo."

GRACE AND PEACE TO YOU FROM GOD OUR FATHER AND OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
Anna and Trudy are sisters, both in their 80’s, who have lived together since Trudy was widowed 15 yrs. ago. Trudy has been hospitalized for the past month because of cancer. Treatments have weakened Trudy’s condition and a week ago Trudy began slipping in and out of consciousness, never really becoming coherent. Trudy’s discomfort has been great and even in her present state, she moans and cries out in pain at times.

We live in an age of multi-tasking. Driving a car and talking on the cell phone. Watching TV and doing a crossword puzzle. Talking on the phone and reading email. Exercising while listening to an ipod. Listening to a sermon and text messaging. (No, you wouldn’t do that.)

The story of the Good Samaritan is perhaps the most popular parable that Jesus told. Even today when a passerby performs bravely in a crisis, newspaper headlines read: “Good Samaritan Rescues Victim”.
There is even a recreational vehicle club called the “Good Sam” Club—it has over a million members nationwide.
I have a friend in California who is a member of the Good Sam Club. On the rear window of his motor home is the logo for the Good Sam Club. The logo is a cartoon character with a big grin and a halo over his head: Good Sam.
