Good Shepherd wants to share your joy and encourage you in your spiritual journey as parents. It is wonderful that you have began the thought process on making plans for your child to receive that most incredible sign of God's grace - Baptism. It is in Baptism that we receive the promised gift of a new kind of life in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Baptism Class

A baptism preparation class must be taken with the expectation that the parents will attend before their child is baptized. These pastor-led classes are held the second Monday at the Central Campus in the months May, June, August, October, and December from 6:30-7:15 pm Nursery is available and infants are also welcome in the class. In addition to going over practical details of the ceremony, time is spent reviewing the meaning of baptism and reflecting on God's calling to Christian parents to live out their baptism promises. Classes are held at the Central Campus.

All classes are in the Good Shepherd Room at Central Campus and run from 6:30 to 7:15 pm.

Scheduling

When you are ready to schedule your baptism, please call Lisa Brudos in the church office at 271-6633 x119. Baptisms can be performed at the Central and West campuses at designated times.

During your call, basic information will be gathered from you, including who will be godparents (also known as baptism sponsors). Godparents make promises to help nurture children in Christian faith growth, just as parents do. That is why they don't necessarily need to be Lutheran, but they do need to be Christian.
